WHO SPEAKS FOR GOD IN POLITICS?

To hear much of the popular rhetoric, one can easily conclude that God is a Republican; while other signals send an equally clear message that all good Christians should vote Democrat.

At the same time that many Christians publically proclaim the “correct” Christian view of various public policy issues, other forcefully argue that Christians should stay as far away from politics as possible.

To understand American politics today, one needs to understand the ways in which religious values and beliefs inform political behavior.

How should Christians respond to this confusing mix of seemingly contradictory views about faith and politics? Why does religion seem to cause so much division? Should Christians just avoid politics all together? Does anyone really speak for God in politics? How should my faith affect my voting decisions and political participation?

Instead of offering one set of definitive answers to these and other questions, the goal of these sessions on Sunday mornings is to educate and equip you to answer them for yourself.

Come and enjoy the fellowship and lively discussion at 9:30 in the Parish Hall.
