Children’s and Youth Ministries are vital components of life at St. Francis of Assisi. We have a number of committed volunteer and church leaders who shape and support a host of activities and programs designed to nurture our young people’s spiritual journey as Christians.

Children’s Ministries at St. Francis target infants through fifth grade. From our caring nursery and toddler rooms to Sunday school classes and activities for pre-school and elementary school aged children, our goal is to embrace, cherish and nurture children through service, education and worship.

In addition to regular Sunday school classes that run September through May, children at St. Francis frequently participate in worship services as acolytes and choir members as well as special programs related to Advent, Lent and Easter. Each summer, our young parishioners and their friends enjoy an entertaining Vacation Bible School program that brings together positive messages about God’s love for them along with fun activities like crafts, singing and dancing, and Bible stories. There are also monthly gatherings for families that allow parents and children alike to enjoy fellowship with the church friends and experience a loving community of faith.

Whether you are a parent or grandparent of a youth, everyone knows the challenges associated with keeping preteens and teenagers on the right path. The Episcopal Youth Committee (EYC) at St. Francis of Assisi has fast become the “sweet,” “hot,” and “rocking place to be” in our community, and for good reason!

Young people in grades 6-12 enjoy a number of activities that bring them together to know and share God’s love. In addition to their weekly gatherings, EYCers enjoy an annual ski trip, Fifth Sunday of the Month Bowling and several Episcopal based retreats. Their excitement is contagious and will make you quite aware that they are leaders in our faith and our community.

EYC at St. Francis support a number of causes in the community as well, including the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Adopt a Street litter clean ups and the St. Francis Thrift Store. EYC also volunteer numerous hours to help with the children’s ministries at St. Francis through the church’s annual Vacation Bible School, their own annual rummage sale and the Outreach Committee’s programs for disadvantaged youth.
