Without the dedication of our Worship Committee we wouldn’t have the serene sanctuary for giving thanks to God. These volunteers provide the Eucharistic bread we receive, flowers to delight our senses, and the beautiful music incorporated into our worship.
We enjoy three choir groups including the adult, youth and children’s division. We are fortunate to have Dr. Laurel Larsen, Professor of Piano for Newberry College, serve as our organist and choir director. In addition, we have a contemporary band of musicians that often lead our service called Kindred Spirit.
There are a number of opportunities to participate in worship services at St. Francis of Assisi, regardless of your age. Our young people can participate in our children and junior choirs as well as serve as acolytes and lay readers. Adults wishing to serve can choose from a number of options, including our altar and flower guilds, bread bakers, lay ministry, choir, ushers and greeters.
We also offer a number of special services throughout the year, including baptisms, confirmation, weddings, funerals, and our popular Blessing of the Animals service is held each fall in our beautiful outdoor chapel.
To learn how you can participate in our worship activities, please contact the Church Office to receive more information on getting involved.
