There are many ways to become involved in the life and ministry of St. Francis of Assisi.

Working with the Junior Warden, the Building and Grounds Committee works tirelessly to oversee the ongoing maintenance and capital improvements for our church, parish hall, outdoor chapel, cemetery, and grounds. We are deeply proud of our serene church campus and appreciate nature’s beauty every time we step foot on the grounds.

Fellowship at St. Francis of Assisi is thriving and full of life! The church and its numerous volunteers host fun and meaningful events throughout the year. These include, but definitely not limited to an annual parish picnic on Lake Murray, including a Blessing of the Fleet, several Lenten and Easter based congregational meals which include a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper, a Passover Seder meal during Holy Week, and the ever expanding Easter morning brunch and egg hunt.
In October, our church receives its four-legged and feathered members with a Blessing of the Animals service set in our outdoor chapel. This is a popular event and many from the community participate as well.
On a monthly basis, parishioners participate in Fellowship and Games, Mom’s Group, Men’s Club, and the FEAST (Friends Eating And Sharing Together) dinner groups held in individual homes. We also host the annual All Saints Auction, a Halloween Carnival, and have recently added a St. Francis Oyster Roast to the mix.

The Pastoral Care area of the church has a meaningful and deep role in parish life. We minister to families of newborns, the sick, homebound, and persons who are experiencing a death in their family. St Francis of Assisi prides itself on the outpouring of support and love given to those in happy occasions as well as their darkest hours.
Some of the activities led by the Pastoral Care committee include our Touch Base and Prayer Shawl ministries, crisis meals, support groups and Parish Chaplains.

It takes a community to form a disciple and the congregation exists to be that community. Children, youth and adults together in the community of faith provide the resources that aid in forming disciples. The Spirit present in our community provides transforming power that makes disciples and nurtures their continued spiritual growth.
Working in tandem with other ministries at St. Francis, we work to inspire our own parish members to get more involved in the life of the church through a number of activities including our weekly Coffee Hour socials following each service, Rally Sunday where we highlight activities and promote committee signups, greeters who welcome newcomers to our church and the church’s pictorial directory.
We also strive to share the good news of our life and church with folks outside our parish in hopes of bringing more people into the Christian faith and our St. Francis home.

Sharing our treasure to support the mission and ministries of St. Francis of Assisi is an important part of our parish life. Although our parish is relatively small in size, our outreach giving ranks third among all churches in the Diocese of Upper South Carolina.
We also ask parishioners to consider gifts of their time, talents and treasures to help grow and maintain the resources we have at St. Francis of Assisi. From our annual stewardship campaign to special events throughout the year, including the annual United Thank Offering, we strive to provide for the needs of our church and the larger community of God.
